What is Giftun Island?
There are two Giftun islands: Big Giftun (Giftun El Kebir) and Small Giftun (Giftun El Saghir). Both lie a short boat ride from Hurghada and belong to a national park that protects their reefs, beaches, and sea life.
There are no hotels on the islands. You come for the day, swim, snorkel, and leave nothing behind. That protection is why the water around Giftun is still so clear.
Orange Bay and Orange Island: same place
Orange Bay is a beach on Big Giftun, and many guests and operators call it Orange Island. It is the postcard you have seen online: powder white sand, a shallow lagoon in every shade of turquoise, and a lively beach club.
Our Orange Island trip goes exactly here, with two snorkeling stops on the reefs along the way. Hula Hula Island, the stylish beach club stop, also sits out by Giftun, so the two are easy to combine in one day.
Why go to Giftun by private speedboat
Big excursion boats bring many guests to the same beach at the same time. A private speedboat crosses faster, lets you pick the 09:00 AM or 01:00 PM departure, and gives you your own spot on the lagoon instead of a seat in a crowd.
You also choose how long to stay in the water. If the snorkeling is great, you stay. If the kids are done, you move on.
Snorkeling around Giftun
The reefs around the islands slope from shallow sand into coral gardens, so beginners can float over fish in calm water while stronger swimmers explore the edges. Expect parrotfish, butterflyfish, Red Sea anemonefish, and bright corals.
Snorkeling equipment and life jackets are on board, and the crew stays close at every stop.
Giftun National Park rules
The park exists to keep the islands beautiful. Please help us protect them.
- Do not stand on, touch, or take coral or shells
- Do not feed the fish
- Use reef friendly sunscreen if you can
- Take every piece of trash back to the boat
Price and how to book
The Orange Island trip is €150 for the whole private boat, up to 8 adults, plus the island entrance of €10 for each guest, children included. Want Giftun and the dolphins in one day? Build Your Trip adds €60 for each extra main stop.
